happy labor y'all, hope you're all having a good day.
as for me, i haven't left the house at all & i'm quite happy about that. i'll probably run out in a while to get some lettuce for blt's tonight, but that's it. i just dyed me hair a bit ago, and it looks nice. think i'll watch juno this afternoon also.
saturday i went and picked up a travel corral for j, since i was headed out to my parents house in livermore & the place she bought it from was in the outskirts of tracy, about 10 minutes past livermore. my dad wanted to go up to mu uncle's cabin saturday night, to hane with other menfolk & drink & play cards, so i stayed with mom overnight to watch her. she hasn't had the surgery yet on her ankle due a lingering case of bronchitis, so she's not allowed to get out of bed basically, except to use the bedside commode.
i is an awesome nurse.
mom and i watched what happens in vegas, and 21. the latter was much better and i like jim sturgess a lot. i hope to see him more movies soon.
my grandma moved into one of those huge retirement communities about 2 weeks ago, the kind that have several hundred (it seemd) independent living apartments, & assisted living. she's in the independent living part, & her apartment is nice. she seems lonely though, i'm sure she's making any friends yet. and since the place is huge, she keeps getting lost & can't find her way back to her apartment when she does down to eat, & she's having trouble remembering what her apartment # is. hell, i went on a walk with her yesterday & we both got lost!!
i have a wreath i made several years ago that i haven't hung up, so i think i'll give it to her to hang on her door, to help give her a visual cue. i think i'll also make her a cute little sign with her name on it with a golf theme too.
she also mentioned that several times, when she's gone to dining room & approached tables with other residents & gone to sit & eat with them - you know, to make new friends, she got stink eye from them, the 'how dare you sit here" eye. what is it, high school there? *sigh* not much i can do. it's just sad. poor grandma.
as promised, here's pics of my bathroom i redecorated last weekend.

here's a close-up of the homemade dog art. these are some of the "prints" j & i had the dogs do a few years ago. we taped a bunch of paper down on the floor, dipped the dogs paws in non-toxic finger paints, & let them run around. there are bear prints on these, so they are very, very dear to me. the other paw prints belong to j's dogs; moose, latte & bleu.

all of you on my flist in the path of hurrican gustave, you and your families are in my thoughts & prayers. stay safe.

i have one of them at my desk at work to. i think we put down at least a dozen peices of art paper. we also did this about a week or two before j replaced her kitchen floor, so we weren't too concerned about not being able to clean up the mess.
