who was bear?

and oooh - car wash! i love going through the car wash - it's sort of spooky.

so there's spn novels too, eh? i'm reading one of the criminal minds novels right now (courtesy of the lovely [livejournal.com profile] buffyaddict13, and it's pretty good.

hope you're having a good night babeh!!

From: [identity profile] tiffosis.livejournal.com

bear was my pug that i lost to lymphoma last july.

yeah, this is the 3rd spn novel. which cm one are you reading? i've read jump cut, which was courtesy of my favorite zombie.

my night is meh. how has your's been?

From: [identity profile] cycatryx.livejournal.com

awwww... bear. i'm sorry you lost your baby. :( sometimes i worry about how i'm going to deal with it when dani dies. i mean, he's only halfway through his life (he's 10), but it still makes me sad to think about.

i'm reading jump cut too! i'm about 1/3 of the way through it. what did you think of it?

From: [identity profile] tiffosis.livejournal.com

thanks babe. bear was only about 1/2 way through his life too, he was only 8. it was something i never wanted to think about, but was forced too. he was practically my lifeline sometimes. it was an agressive cancer and took him quickly. i am blessed that i was able to get frannie so quickly after bear (4 days!), and i almost didn't get her, whew!!

i really liked the book. i liked how we got to see from the different pov's. what other kind of genres do you like to read?

From: [identity profile] cycatryx.livejournal.com

is your icon a pic of bear?
how nice that you found frannie so fast! why did you almost not get her?

i like the different POVs in jump cut as well. the unsub's POV is especially interesting and well-written. i think it's a little strange how the author describes everyone's outfits in meticulous detail, tho.

as far as other genres, i really like YA literature, nonfiction (mostly science, nature, medical, and physics stuff), some fantasy (mostly YA stuff), contemporary fiction and short stories, and LOTS of 18th and 19th century (mostly british) poetry and prose. also some older authors, like chaucer and milton and shakespeare and such. i don't really read magazines or newspapers, but i check up on news online every day. oh, and of course, cm, dexter, and x-files fanfic. what about you??

From: [identity profile] tiffosis.livejournal.com

is your icon a pic of bear?

no, just a cute puppy.

why did you almost not get her?

i had actually started to look at getting another dog after bear was diagnosed, kmowing that the loss would be easier for me if i had another dog. and even that was hard to decide, cuz i felt like i would be...betraying him, you know? so my friend j actually sent me frannie's pic and i instantly loved her snaggletooth. i called about her, and her foster mom actually brought her over on a saturday for me to meet and i loved her. she wanted me to take frannie tight then, and i couldn't. i was watching all of j's dogs as she was out of town, and with that and bear being sick, i just couldn't take her that night, plus it wouldn't have been fair to frannie to take her when i wouldn't have been able to dedicate anytime to acclimating her.

i asked if i could wait until the next friday to take her, and she said they ahd another home that could take her, and that franniw would go to them if i couldn't....so i lost her. it was a week later that i had to put bear to sleep because he was in so much pain, and the day fater that i called the girl and told her bear was gone, and since she knew what i was looking for in a dog and to please keep an eye out for me and she told me the other home didn't take frannie and i could still have her. fate? i like to think so.

what's YA?

i like fantasy books, like those by david eddings and george rr martin, tolkien of course. stephen king, koontz, ann rice. smutty vamp books like those by laurell k hamilton (high class literature!) and the like. i love true crime books and especially ones abut serial killers (the zodiac in particular). and i;m a big national geographic nerd. i mainline that mag like crack. i even write letters in. <---is a nerd.

*hugs*

From: [identity profile] cycatryx.livejournal.com

wow, that is quite a story about frannie. i think it MUST have been fate. ;)

YA stands for young adult; targeted for ages 11-15 or thereabouts

YAY TOLKIEN! have you ever read "the silmarillion"? i love the creation story @ the beginning of that book.
i used to be obsessed with anne rice's vampire series when i was younger, but i haven't kept up with the later books. i never found time to read the mayfair witches chronicles, which i deeply regret. my best friend loved them.
national geographic is an AWESOME magazine. i used to keep clippings of pretty scenic pictures in little folders and i'd take them out and look at them when i was bored. <-----is dork
i wish i could afford a subscription to that mag, but we're saving up for a house and every little bit counts. ;)

i'm about halfway throught it and it's pretty good. dean just got attacked by a dee-mon-ic doll!!! creepy killer dolls ftw!!!

no, those where my bunny bubbles. =)

From: [identity profile] buriedchild.livejournal.com

You sure know how to start a day off right! Yummy french dough and chocolate.

Oh the BONE KEY. I read the first two, and I was just... well... not impressed. Better writing online. BUT STILL im trying hard not to buy that book. Why does Show own my life? Why?!?

I love carwashes. They're like my favorite thing to do. In college a friend was anal about his car and he would take me when he would go wash his car. Oh it was so much fun! simple pleasures, I guess...

Im sorry to hear about Bear. I think I was oddly detached from all my pets over the years because I have a overriding fear of losing them, which we always did. But those memories are pretty beautiful to see. Thanks for sharing those with us. :)

PS: I think you're awesome :)

i had them again today. yum! sadly, they should be gone now, unless rommie didn't eat the 3 i left for her. in which case, they're mine!!!

i think they're getting better. though the editing is not 100% (ie; there was a now instead of know).

BUT STILL im trying hard not to buy that book. Why does Show own my life? Why?!?
