i thought i would hate this ep. and not for the wanky reasons i've heard other's bitch about, with samndean being the only beings in the universe that matter, blah, blah, blah. i thought i'd hate it cuz they'd make a mockery of the story thus far. i was filled with much dubiousness that i would like it, and also thought kripke was going to have one large punch line at the end, hence the title. and the reference to cousin oliver's.

i liked it. i thought it was nicely handled, and the story was good. i have no complaints.

it was slap in the gut to see dean see the normal life he missed out one. that hurt a lot.

and i wonder.....how much of demon-infused blood did sam lose?

will they take this in a direction of "oh, sam is cured of his demon blood addiction!" or "sam lost too much demon blood to fight the upcoming battle?"


forgot to mention....tomorrow night i am taking a course on animal communication. see if i can tune into my intuitive side and "talk" to the beasties.

the course is taught by mary argo, the animal communicator that i've used to communicate with frannie and bear. i am so excited to meet mary. she helped me so, so much when bear was dying, and for that i feel so much gratitude and i can't wait to thank her in person for all she's done.

I am very curious about where they are going to take the loss of demon blood. I probs wouldn't have thought about it if it weren't for the 'then' bit, but it was definitely on my mind. (oh, well they reminded us with the 'tastes like chicken different' thing, so probably I would)

I do wish they had mentioned a transfusion or something before the end there. stitches, bandages, something. those were DEEP BIG CUTS.

I was worried with how this was going to go down, with a new brother that got the life they didn't get...that hurt to see - John there for birthdays, baseball games, making normal family pictures, teaching the kid how to drive instead of how to shoot. It surprised me a little that Dean wanted to keep the guy in the dark about the demon stuff, while Sam wanted him to step up to the Winchester name. But only a little.

I like how they didn't make it another comedy ep, nor was it dreamed up, but it was tied together and put to rest nicely. Fleshed out John a bit more, gave SamnDean something besides their inner turmoils to hash out. A great big underline for the changes in their goals since the show started - Dean now craving the normal life and Sam clinging to the hunter lifestyle.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that. Part of me was going "ok, let's get to the hospital and transfuse with good blood after all that bad blood is out of him". I think he lost enough blood to need medical attention, but I do wonder where it will go next. I'd like to vote for salvation from the demon blood (mainly because I didn't get all the hints that he was actually drinking Ruby's blood until they showed it on camera...ew!). But I did like that the ghouls noticed his blood tasted different.

I wouldn't mind if it was either, actually. I'd even kind of like to see "Sam lost so much demon blood he's in massive withdrawal, all sweaty and puking and shit". Cuz I'm sick like that. Though I doubt they'll have time to go there, what with the apocalypse looming and all.

What I DON'T want to see is this being just an excuse for Sam to pull up to the RubyPump for a fill-up. Gross, man.
