Divorces and horses

Here I am again to lament about my discipline to post when I have the best intentions too.

 

Damn shiny objects. Why must they be everywhere?

 

So, not really too much going on. Just work, work, work and too much time spent surfing the net when at home (and at work…). That is the main shiny object that distracts me, too many fics to read and games to play. I was able to go out last week and ride Ruby, and it was so nice. It was a beautiful evening and she did so well.

 

On Saturday, I did go to a gymkhana to compete in Rio Linda, and had a great time. I only ran in 5 of 7 events, cuz I didn’t have too much money to spend, so I sat out of 2 of the “harder” events. I even placed 5^th in one event, and, ironically enough, it was in Speed Ball, which I have never, ever gotten that damned ball in with her. Not her fault, just since having her, I have never really tried to bend that far down, so I stopped and actually, really tried, and made it in!!

 

Overall, it was a great day. Jullie, Spring, Dianna and Rockie, and Bev where all there. It was only in the 80’s temperature wise, yet we all swore we were going to die from the heat. What a bunch of wusses we are! We all laughed at the fact that all week, we talk about how much we look forward to going and how fun it will be, and then we sat there and bitched about hot and tired we were. Sheesh!

 

I’ll say again, Ruby was so well behaved; much calmer/less jumpy and more attentive to me than she has been in the past. I think it is a result of her new (the December move) living arrangements. I think her being in pasture, as opposed to a stall, has improved her disposition. I’m lucky to have her. =)

 

My sister’s divorce has been officially finalized and she is so very happy. Her ex is a complete ass, so she is doing a happy dance to have that ball and chain cut loose. Congrats Heidi!!! And since I’m on the subject of divorce – I just found out that my friend Martha is getting one. She has been married to Alex for about 10 years and they have 2 boys. He informed her that he has been screwing someone else (whore) and wants a divorce, and that having kids was something he never really wanted. Bastard. Sadly, none of us are really surprised much. Alex has always been very selfish and immature, mainly by always buying lots of big things (boats, ATV”S, major $$ on tattoos) without consulting her and not contributing much to the child rearing.

 

Men suck. Which is why I have no plans to rush out and ever marry. Just need a man and his parts to keep me happy. Yeah – I need to work on that part…….it’s been too long.
